Location

The Bakeshop is located at 1690 Post Road and was a working barn, housing farm animals before becoming an antique store for the last several years. It was built in 1875 and is attached to a farmhouse that offers guests seasonal accommodations, available through Air BnB. We are conveniently located just north of Wells Corner and close to the beach.

Grace Olson

Owner/CEO

Retirement did not sound fun to Grace, so after leaving the high tech industry after a very successful career, she took on the project of creating a friendly place to get really good coffee and European inspired pastries. The coffeeshop has been a dream of hers since the beginning.

Kristen Law​son Perry

Pastry Chef/Owner

After receiving a Bachelor's Degree in Culinary Arts at JWU, Kristen went on to work at several restaurants and bakeries in Boston, MA including Flour Bakery + Cafe and Tatte Bakery and Cafe, honing her craft in butter and sugar.  As the opening pastry chef at Petit Robert Bistro, she was able to stage at Patisserie Cassel in Fontainbleu, France and at Restaurant Daniel and Payard Patisserie in NYC.  In 2015, after the birth of her daughter, she and husband, Doug, moved back home to Wells, Maine to pursue their dreams of opening their own bakery.

Doug has gained a wealth of knowledge and increased his skill set in the kitchen by working at many noteworthy restaurants and cafes in both Boston and in Southern Maine.  He is excited to create delicious breakfast and lunch offerings for our guests using fresh ingredients and classic techniques.
